Heat resistant vegetables
Hello Gardeners!
What are the most appropriate vegetables to plant during overly hot temperatures?
Sweet potato:
The tuber needs sun and warmth to grow. This is the ideal season to plant them. In only 90 days, they grow abundantly. This vegetable contains a lot of fiber, vitamins B, A, C and minerals such as potassium and magnesium, which help prevent certain diseases such as diabetes, cancer and heart attacks. In addition, sweet potatoes are low in fat and are a source of antioxidants that prevent premature aging.
Spinach:
During the warmer months, they grow faster, so be careful not to let them bolt before picking them to eat. When planting, try to leave about 20 cm between each plant. It needs both sun and shade, as direct summer sun for a long time can damage this plant. Helps with diabetes, cancer, eye and brain damage.
Green beans:
Green beans grow best when the air temperature ranges from 19°C to 30°C. When planting beans, leave a space of 40 cm between plants. Green beans contain vitamins C, A, E and B. In addition to minerals: potassium, calcium and magnesium. They are recommended in case of diabetes, cholesterol and during pregnancy. They reduce the risk of contracting cardiovascular diseases and developing cancers. They are very good for the immune system, keep bones strong and arteries healthy.
Cucumbers:
This vegetable requires a warm season with temperatures above 20ºC. On the other hand, you should place them in the most sunny areas of your home, where they receive about 10 hours of light per day. Cucumbers are an excellent source of fiber and B vitamins, which improve the functioning of the nervous system and maintain the structure and functioning of cell membranes.
Zucchini:
Zucchini is a warm season crop that does not tolerate frost and sub-zero temperatures. It is therefore best planted in temperatures of at least 20°C or higher. It reduces cholesterol, lowers blood pressure, improves cardiovascular health and prevents cancer because it contains antioxidant properties, potassium, magnesium and fiber.
